Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan injured himself on his head while shooting for Bang Bang and underwent a brain surgery in July. But as his headaches have been recurring since then, it was reported that Hrithik may undergo another surgery abroad. But his father-filmmaker Rakesh Roshan has brushed off all such reports as no more surgery is in the pipeline.

Senior Roshan said, "Hrithik is going abroad only for a medical check-up, not a surgery. He gets these occasional headaches, and he wants to get to the bottom of them once and for all." When he was asked why and when these reports of further surgery got sparked off Rakesh said, "You must ask those well-wishers who spread such rumours. I repeat, there is no surgery happening. Just a check-up." Reports also said that Hrithik may go for a long break from work and such reports were also called as premature by Rakesh Roshan.

The doting father said, "Hrithik will be gone abroad for a week or at the most, two weeks. There is no need to spread alarming reports." Hrithik said, "I am extremely overwhelmed by the tremendous support and love extended by everyone to 'Krrish 3'. Before I get ready to resume the shooting of my next, 'Bang Bang', in early January 2014 and later 'Shuddhi', as both are physically demanding, I will be taking some time off to recover completely from the recurring headaches that have resurfaced in the last couple of weeks.” "I am confident that your love and prayers will heal me completely. I wish everyone a great end to 2013 and a fabulous start to 2014," he added. His upcoming films, Bang Bang and Shuddhi will see him opposite Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor Khan, respectively.
