On International Women's Day, Virat Kohli pays tribute to Anushka Sharma, mom

India cricket team skipper Virat Kohli, on a high after the thrilling win over Australia in the second Test in Bangalore, posted a flowing tribute to the two “strong women in his life” - mother Saroj and girlfriend Anushka - while wishing everyone on International Women’s Day.

Virat Kohli shares a special bond with his mother, whom he believes is the source of his strength. He posted a picture on Instagram, talking at length about the strength of his mother in looking after the family through the toughest of times.

The India cricket team skipper, who showed exemplary leadership skills and fighting sprit during the Bangalore Test, praised his girlfriend, Anushka Sharma, for her fighting spirit going “against the odds regularly and standing up for righteousness and changing the norms”.

My mom for looking after the family in toughest times in life and @anushkasharma for fighting against the odds regularly and standing up for righteousness and changing the norms ❤#happywomenday,” read the caption of Kohli’s women’s day special instagram post.

Virat Kohli has been a strong crusader of social systems, but on International Women’s Day, he has once again extended his tribute to the distaff side.
