Overreacting users compel Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan quit Twitter?

Social networking sites were initially created to enjoy freedom of expression but they have remained self-contradictory. Twitter, one of the most popular microblogging sites among worldwide celebrities, is not an exception. That’s why Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan were literally forced to forsake their passion of tweeting.

It was getting impossible for Shah Rukh Khan to control the situation after expressing his religious sentiments in a magazine recently. Hence he decided to leave his Twitter account to stay away from abusive and overly critical users. Aamir Khan, who has been completely disillusioned with his Twitter account, has also joined the club of celebrities who have decided to go offline. Before bidding goodbye to the site, SRK tweeted for the last time on January 9 expressing his anguish, "Sad,i read so much judgements, jingoism, religious intolerance on the net & i use to think, this platform wl change narrowmindedness,but no!"

At the same time it has been reported that the media manager ofKing Khanwill manage his Twitter page from now onwards. Earlier in 2012, Priyanka Chopra was forced to quit Twitter due to some abusive users and their insensible comments. Actor Imran Khan also logged off from his Twitter account to keep unnecessary critics at bay. The saddest part is that the true well-wishers of the actors who loved staying connected to them via Twitter are going to suffer without any offence.
