Padmavat Banned In Hyderabad!

Troubles don’t seem to end for ‘Padmavat’! The latest on the flick is that Goshamahal BJP MLA Raja Singh has banned its screening in four theatres in his constituency. He personally met with the managers of the theatres and told them not to screen the film and that there will be protests from the Karni Rajputs if they did.

“I have personally met the managers of Ramakrishna, Santosh-Sapna, Maheshwari-Paramesh-wari and Venkataramana theatres, located in and around my constituency and asked them not to screen the movie. They have been told not to buy the movie because they will incur a loss, as it won’t be allowed to play”, Mr. Singh stated. As of yet, there has been no comment of any of the managers.

‘Padmavat’ has been banned in MP and Gujarat but the Yogi Adityanath government in UP will not prevent the film’s release. Mr. Singh’s order of not screening the film is in open defiance of the government as TS has not banned the film. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali epic is slated for a January 25 release.
