Karni Sena To Protest For All-India Ban On Deepika Padukone's Padmavati!

It seems Padmavati will be marked as the most controversial film in the history of Indian cinema. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali magnum opus has been the gruelling factor for Karni Sena and most Indians. Recently the film got a green signal from the Central Board of Film Certification, however, the Karni Sena seems to be unhappy with their decision and wants the film to be totally banned in India.

And now according to latest reports, Karni Sena has held a press conference on Friday and has called upon the community members to gather in Chittorgarh on January 27 to protest against the film, calling it for an all-India ban. Rajput Karni Sena chief Lokendra Singh Kalvi said, “Members of the Rajput community will gather in Chittorgarh on January 27 to give a clear message that the sacrifice of Rani Padmavati has not gone in vain. Anyone who supports our call of banning the film can join us in Chittorgarh”. He further added that he will not allow the film to release at any cost.

Moreover, according to Kalvi the panel who reviewed the film in a special screening stated that some of the facts in the film might upset the Rajputs and the Muslims however the Central Board of Film Certification has ignored that. He further said that Bhansali has not been able to clarify the genre of the film, whether it is based on history, period drama or a fiction. The CBFC on December 30, the headed by Prasoon Joshi announced that the film would be given a U/A certificate and asked the director to change the film’s title to 'Padmavat'. But it seems there will be no end to these controversies. Whether or not Padmavati releases, the controversy will indeed remain a big history in of all time.
