Like many other Indians films, Madhur Bhandarkar’s Calander Girls has also failed to strike the chords with Pakistan. After A.R. Rahman, a fatwa has been issued against the film, which is scheduled to hit the theatres on September 25. Pakistan has claimed that the film puts their country in bad light.

The film, which is based on the life of Calendar models, reportedly, has a character from Pakistani origin. A dialogue mouthed by an actress, who plays Pakistani girl in the flick has raised objections. The dialogue is: “Pakistani ladkiyan bhi utne hi bold kaam karti hai jitni baki ladkiya karti hai; balki kabhi kabhi usse zyada bhi (Pakistani girls do equally bold work as other girls; and sometimes more than them too)”.

Pakistani officials have claimed that the film, if released in Pakistan, will have bad influence on young girls of the county. Further is said that they have also decided to ban the film in Pakistan. The story of Calendar Girls is said to have 75 percent reality and 25 percent fiction.
