    Plea Seeking Ban On Bajirao Mastani Filed

    Pleas seeking ban on upcoming films in not a new thing in Bollywood and once again that has happened with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani. Even before the release of the film, Hemant Patil, who is the president of NGO ‘Bharat against Corruption’, has filed a petition in order to seek ban on Ranveer Singh starrer flick. The petition, which has been filed on November 24, claims that the facts about history have been wrongly portrayed in the historical romance film.

    The petitioner has claimed that the facts pertaining to the history in concern of late King Bajirao Peshwe have been distorted in the flick. He has also mentioned that the song ‘Pinga’, which shows Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone dancing together, is also an example of distorted history. He explained that Pinga is a dance form that reflects Marathi culture but in the film it has been portrayed as an item song.

    The case will be heard in the court on November 26. Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone have been named as respondents in the case. Meanwhile, the flick is scheduled to hit the theatres on December 18.
