Police Arrested 100 MNS Workers Outside Karan Johar’s Office

Now that the 48-hour time span given to the Pakistani actors and artistes to leave India is over, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers have actually picked up pace. Shalini Thackeray of the Sena has even threatened that she will never let Karan Johar’s upcoming directorial venture Ae Dil Hai Mushkil release as it stars Pakistani actor Fawad Khan. In an attempt to keep the situation under control, Johar was quoted as saying that banning Pakistani talents is no solution as it will never curb terrorism in India.

Well, it seems like the great words by Karan had gone all in vein. Few hours back, around 100 MNS workers staged protest against the filmmaker outside his office Dharma Productions at Supreme Chambers in Andheri West. Fortunately, the police already had a clue about the intentions of the group. Therefore, a large number of the personnel were already deployed at his office.

Soon after the demonstrators reached the spot, Mumbai police clutched and arrested around 80 to 100 of them and brought the situation under control. MNS Chitrapat Sena's president Ameya Khopkar has himself confirmed the news of their workers’ arrest. He said, “Yes our workers have been arrested. We have nothing against Karan Johar, but we will not let him release Ae Dil Hai Mushkil with Fawad Khan in it. We don’t intend to be peaceful about this situation”.

Khopkar was also quoted as saying that Fawad and Mahira Khan (the female lead in Shah rukh Khan’s Raees) has left India. He said, "They are not in our country. I think all the Pakistani artistes have gone away. Some of them have gone to Dubai, some went to Pakistan directly, and some went to Dubai and took a connecting flight to Pakistan”.

Well, Desimartini hopes that Ae Dil Hai Mushkil gets through all the difficulties before its release. The film will hit the screens on October 28. Stay connected to Desimartini for more updates on the issue!
