One of the top Asian actors of all time, Pran, will be unable to come to New Delhi to receive the Dadasaheb Phalke award as the actor is in poor health but the distance doesn’t matter for the93-year-old’s extra-ordinary inputs to cinema. Hiscontribution to Indian cinema for making negative roles an integral part of the Hindi films would never be forgotten. As per a source, the Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF) has decided to present the award at his place. The DFF will be sending a special delegation team to Mumbai to give away the Dadasaheb Phalke award.

A family member spoke on the event, "They have told the family that they will play an audio-visual clip at the award ceremony and then give him the award at his home. It is rare that the award is delivered home. They might come and record an audio-visual clip to be played at the venue but they haven't told us anything about it."

Pran's daughter, Pinky Bhalla also informed about her father’s improving health condition, by stating, "My father is keeping better. He is honoured to have received the award but he knows that he is not in a condition to travel the distance to receive the award".
