After earning accolades for her monumental depiction of Kashibai in ‘Bajirao Mastani’, Priyanka Chopra has challenged herself with yet another demanding role-play in ‘Jai Gangaajal.’ The actress will be seen playing Abha, female top-cop in a male dominated society. The dynamic actress has to fight against corruption and land mafia in the movie at the same time as she tries not to take law in her hands.

“It’s a very interestingly layered character. Abha is very feminine and she has been thrown into this man’s world where nobody takes her seriously even when she is Superintendent of Police, because she is a woman, Piggy Chops said.” Jamshedpur-born Priyanka Chopra recently became the first Indian actress to work on a U.S. based television show.

Talking more about her character, Mary Kom actress said, “She has been sent to this very male-dominated city where she has to put her foot down, making sure that she does not have to take the law in her hands at the same time.” Very particular about her roles, she added, “It was very important for me to play strong female characters in my films. I started doing that a long time ago, be it Kaminey where I had just eight scenes, Jhilmil in Barfi!, Gunday, Saat Khoon Maaf or Kashibai in Bajirao Mastani.
