    It has been officially declared that Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has been sentenced to five years jail in relation to the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case and now news is doing rounds that the verdict will burn a hole in the producers’ pockets as around Rs. 250 crore are riding on the actor presently. Big ticket projects likeP.K.,Policegiri,Zanjeer,Ungliand many others are included in the Rs. 250 crore budget. According to sources, aroundRs.50-60 crore are at stake inZanjeer, whileRs.25 crore onPolicegiri, which is the remake of a South movie.

    People from the B-town have invariably reacted adversely to the SC judgment on Sanjay Dutt. A strong supporter of Sanjay, director-producer Karan Johar wrote, “I am truly shattered to hear of Sanju`s sentence...the nicest guy i have known just doesnt deserve this...my heart goes out to him....(sic).” Dutt’sMunnabhaico-star Arshad Warsi tweeted, “I am numb, I don't know what to say. Sanjay Dutt is not a criminal. This is too harsh a decision (sic).” Dutt’s ‘Agneepathco-star Hrithik Roshan wrote, “I cannot comprehend. I know d law is d LAW. But I can bet my Life 2 say that Sanju sir doesn't deserve this! D most loved man!i stand for Sanjay dutt.”

    A distressed Sanjay Dutt’s statement quoted, “I am sorry I can't come down and meet you all. I am shattered and in emotional distress. God is great and he will guide me through this. My family is very emotional right now and I have to be strong for them. They have always stood by me and supported me. I know in my heart that I have always been a good human being. I have respected the system and always been loyal to my country. I am going to complete all my films and won't let anyone down. I am overwhelmed by the support of my fans, the industry people, the media and all the well wishers. I have always respected the judicial system and will continue to do so, even with tears in my eyes. I am heart broken because today along with me, my 3 children and my wife and my family will undergo the punishment. I have already suffered for 20 years and been in jail for 18 months. If they want me to suffer more I have to be strong.”
