Amjad also mentioned the reason for the temporary ban that a letter has been sent by theCentral Board of Film Certification(CBFC) to put a stay on the film’s release,"The letter from CBFC states that the film portrays an inapt image of a Muslim girl (played by Sonam Kapoor) falling in love with a Hindu man and having an affair with him."

It is not the first time that a film is being banned by CBFC. Movies like Ek Tha Tiger,G.I. Joe,Agent Vinod were also banned as they consider them having “anti-Pakistan” sentiments and also possess controversial themes. The film was scheduled to release by the end of June, directed by Anand L. Rai and Pakistani singer Shiraz Uppal recorded a sound track for the title song of the film.
