Ragging Is Not Evil, If Done Within The Limit: Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra

One of the most celebrated filmmakers of past few decades, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, is yet again ready with another epic, Mirzya. The film also marks the debut of Anil Kapoor’s son, Harshvardhan. The filmmaker recently visited SRCC as a guest lecturer, also an alumni and revealed few things about his college days.

"I was ragged here in these lawns. I 'swam' on the grass wearing my swimming costume over my trousers - and I loved it. When I told my seniors that I was a swimmer, they asked, 'Are you carrying your costume?' and I said, 'I always carry my costume.' I was then made to wear my swimming costume over my trousers and told to swim on the grass”, Rakeysh said.

He added that as far as it is in the limits, he doesn’t feel ragging to be evil. Rakeysh referred his college days as ‘Hawan Kund’ and really enjoy his college days. Rakeysh has given several youth centric films in Rang De Basanti, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Delhi 6, which were appreciated by one and all.
