Rajinikanth's 2.o shooting update: One song and patch work left, says Shankar

South India’s showman Shankar has wrapped up major portion of his upcoming magnum opus 2.o starring superstar Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar. After shooting an important scene in the Rs 450 crore film, Shankar tweeted, “With my team after finishing a major scene of #2.0. One song and some patch works are only the balance (sic).”

“We have nearly completed 90% of the shoot, one song with Amy Jackson and Rajinikanth will be canned next month and then it will be a wrap,” a source close to the team informed HT. 2.o is the sequel to Rajinikanth and Shankar’s 2010 blockbuster film, Robot. In the sequel, Rajinikanth will be seen playing a dual role -- scientist Vasee and advanced robot Chitti.

Akshay Kumar’s role will be on par with Rajinikanth; he plays a deadly villain. “Akshay plans to destruct the entire world with the help of birds and how Vasee-Chitti duo tackles him forms the major crux of 2.o. The film will be a major milestone in terms of VFX and the core story also has a global theme,” added the source.

Sudhanshu Pandey and Adil Hussain also play pivotal roles in the film, which will simultaneously release in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi this Diwali.
