Rajkumar Rao Talks About His Character In Bareilly Ki Barfi

Trapped actor Rajkumar Rao will soon be seen in ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ where he will be playing an amateur poet who works in a saree shop. Rajkumar is a diverse actor who will be seen in various roles like of a jaagran singer, a terrorist, an election officer and was last seen as an executive trapped in a highrise. Recently, the actor sat down with Bollywoodlife where he spoke about his role in ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’.

The Aligarh actor revealed that his character is named Pritam Vidrohi who has two very different sides. He has never done something like this before. Talking about how he chooses his roles, Rajkumar shared, “I don’t have any set formula to choose my roles. I read all my scripts myself and if there is something, which excites me as an actor, I just say yes to it. It’s an impulsive decision”. He added that he gives priority to the content/story first and then what his role is, who is directing and what his contribution to the film is.

When asked if he would ever be interested in playing a completely negative role, the actor stated that he would love to pursue such a character. He feels that it is a very difficult space to be in, referring to his character in 'Omerta' (where he plays a terrorist).

‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Kriti Sanon, and will be released on July 21.
