‘Ram Lakhan’ remake turns a match of guesswork

Ever since the big remake announcement of Subhash Ghai’s blockbuster classic Ram Lakhan happened, the project has only become a speculative enterprise. From Ranvir Singh to Varun Dhawan to Arjun Kapoor and so many others, the media and observers have made all possible guesses for the final cast. The confirmed decision still remains under the wrap though. While Tiger Shroff had apparently declined the offer to be on board, it was almost certain that Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor would star as title lead. However, even Ranbir Kapoor’s name is in the conjectural business now.

According to some reports Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone may also find their way crawling up to the cast board. However nothing seems to be confirming as yet. Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez is reportedly almost final to play the character that Dimple Kapadia played in the original. The actress after a recent high in the industry with a superhit like ‘Kick’ is riding huge. The formal announcement and first look poster that formally announced the arrival of Ram Lakhan remake made a pumping effect throughout the entertainment arenas. With someone like Rohit Shetty being at the helm and Karan Johar producing the product, expectations and speculations are bound to get out of hands. Let’s just hope the makers settle for a choice best suited for them and the audiences.

The original film directed by Subhash Ghai is considered one of the milestone cinematic ventures especially in the masala commercial genre. The blockbuster film starred Anil Kapoor, Jacky Shroff and Rakhi in the lead and wrote a new chapter of a Hindi commercial film’s success.
