Ram Lakhan Remake: Varun Dhawan, Sidharth Malhotra to Play Ram-Lakhan

The Student of the Year Jodi, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan has been finalized to play brothers in the reprise of classic film of 80’s Ram Lakhan. An anonymous source revealed, “Karan Johar’s favourites, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan have been finalised for the Ram Lakhan remake. An official announcement will be made soon”.

The source further continued, “In this remake, Sid will reprise Jackie Shroff’s role as Ram, while Varun will play Lakhan played by Anil Kapoor”. This goes in contradiction to what Anil Kapoor wanted. As per Dil Dhadakne Do fame, Ranveer Singh would have essayed his role closer to perfectness.

On the other hand, Jackie wanted Sidharth to play the role. Seems like his wish has been heard. The film will be produced by Karan Johar and directed by Rohit Shetty. While Anil Kpoor wasn’t happy with the remake of the film, considering that the film isn’t iconic, Jackie Shroff on the other hand is happy with the remake. Previously, he said, “I like remakes and don’t think there is any harm in remaking films as long as the essence is intact”.
