Ranbir Kapoor to romance Deepika Padukone once again?

First it was 2008, the year of Bachna Ae Haseeno, when the entire buzz began regarding Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. They became friends, fell in love with each other and then parted ways. After five years the recent release by Ayan Mukerji, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, helped the ex-lovebirds reunite to create a roar in the box-office. And now the ex-lovers seem to be seen together once more, if the latest buzz is to be believed.

Ranbir Kapoor was always confirmed for the project to be helmed by Imtiaz Ali. But the makers have been in a dilemma over its female lead. Now the latest reports have furnished indicating that Imtiaz has planned to sign in Deepika for the lead role opposite Ranbir for the Sajid Nadiadwala’s production, yet to be titled. An insider from the industry revealed, “They haven’t put things on paper yet, but after YJHD, Imtiaz is sure about Deepika.” The source added further, “They have been in touch. Imtiaz has already discussed the film and storyline with her. And she seems impressed.”

Deepika has already been fond of Imtiaz as she offered a blockbuster with this director with Love Aaj Kal in 2009. There are also some other names who are contending for the role like Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt. The insider revealed further, “But what went in Deepika’s favour is her chemistry with Ranbir in YJHD.” The film is supposed to go on floors in January, 2014. The source added, “By that time, the hype over YJHD would be over, so Imtiaz can start his film on a new note.” To add more the insider said, “Right now, none of them want to go on record, since a number of actors are vying for the part. But internally, the makers have decided on Deepika. Ranbir has also been sounded off about the same.” None of the persons in question, Deepika, Sajid and Imtiaz could be contacted for further comments.
