Ranveer Singh of the Bajirao Mastani clan says that Bollywood lacks original content. The actor wants to experiment more in the industry. Ranveer has given two back-to-back hits in 2015 with Zoya Akhtar directorial Dil Dhadakne Do and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s last released.

The 30-year-old actor said, “I find there to be a dearth of unique stories. I find there to be a dearth of writers and writing original material something that I spoke at a intellectual conclave and the take away that I wanted to give to the audience was that we need to value our writers and encourage them to come up with original content. I do believe that content is king”.

Ranveer who has recently complete five years in Bollywood says it is his dream to give unconventional subjects, stories mainstream credibility. “I want to have that balance of a credible film that also has its commercial chops in the sense that it appeals to a broad audience and having a wider appeal. I find myself being drawn more and more to films that have wide appeal and it doesn’t necessarily mean that they have to be brainless but I find myself committed to putting things out there that entertain a broad spectrum of audience so that kids as well as adults also watch it. It should appeal to everyone”, the actor added.
