Ranveer Singh Is Maharashtrian Of The Year

Ranveer Singh has been crowned as Lokmat’s ‘Maharashtrian Of The Year’ for his portrayal of a Maratha warrior named Peshwa Bajirao in the film ‘Bajirao Mastani’. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will give Ranveer the title at a ceremony in Mumbai. The award is given to personalities who have made a positive impact on Maharashtra.

In the past, actors like Dilip Kumar and Amitabh Bachchan have been honoured with this title and now Ranveer has joined the rank. He was chosen by former Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, Former Union Minister Praful Patel, social activist Medha Patkar and several others. Congratulations Ranveer!

Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, ‘Bajirao Mastani’ starred Deepika Padukone as Mastani and Priyanka Chopra as Kashibai. The movie won more than five National Awards with Bhansali claiming the Best director title. Now, Ranveer is working on his upcoming film ‘Befikre’ under the direction of Aditya Chopra.
