    Reena Roy`s film producer sister to bring M.F. Hussain`s life on the big screen

    It has been a colourful life led by the world-famous modernist painter-filmmaker Indian-Qatari M.F. Hussain from 1915-2011. Now his life is going to be depicted on the silver screen by actress Reena Roy’s sister Barkha who is a movie producer.

    The producer of the 1982 film, Sanam Teri Kasam, Barkha said that she met with the talented artist 10 years ago in Bandra. She has also claimed that he expressed his wish at that time that he would love to work with her someday. The producer added, "Unfortunately, that couldn`t happen, but I wanted to honour my commitment and there couldn`t be a better way to do that than film his life journey for his millions of fans.”

    The project titled My Friend Hussain will be a 1 hour and 10 minutes commercial film, Barkha revealed. She said, "It`s Hussain`s journey with friends. And all big artists like S.H. Raza, Kishan Khanna and Ram Kumar have all spoken about the great painter. The film will be released in September, around the time of Hussain sahab`s birthday (birth anniversary).” She went on saying, "It`s my tribute to the great painter and I want the world to see his personal side.” Hussain who will always remain a venerable figure in the world of paintings died at the age of 95 on June 9, 2011 in a London hospital.
