Richa Clarifies, Cabaret Not Based On Dance Form or Helen’s Life

The Gangs of Wasseypur fame actress Richa Chadda clarified the rumours being made on her upcoming film Cabaret. The actress said that the film is not based on the popular dance form cabaret. The movie is a Kaustav Narayan Niyogi directorial and is being produced jointly by Pooja Bhatt and Bhushan Kumar, under the banner of Fisheye Network Private Limited.

Richa was reported as saying, “Cabaret is not based on cabaret (dance). It's a story of a simple girl, who goes through a lot of troubles. Then there is a love story between this girl and her boyfriend. The film's backdrop is based on dance and performance.”

The 27-year-old actress also clarified that the film is not even based on the life of the legendary dancing sensation Helen. "Press is reporting that it is based on Helen ji's life. That is not true," Richa added. Cabaret also features heartthrob Randeep Hooda, in the role of an honest cop.
