Legendary Actress Sridevi Passes Away At 54; New Details Emerge On Her Untimely Demise!

Leaving us all at a complete loss of words, legendary actress Sridevi breathed her last after suffering a massive cardiac arrest while she was in Dubai. Yes, Sridevi is not with us anymore and that is a shock all her fans and audience will take some time to get over. The actress was 54 years old and had just done a full-fledged movie last year titled Mom.

The actress suffered a cardiac arrest and succumbed before any medical treatment could have helped. Her brother-in-law, Sanjay Kapoor confirmed the news, “Yes, it is true that Sridevi passed away. I just landed here, I was in Dubai and now I am flying back to Dubai. It happened roughly around 11.00-11.30. I don’t know more details yet.” The actress was in Dubai to attend her nephew, Mohit Marwah's wedding.

The news that broke later on the night of 24^th took everybody by shock and celebs from all across started paying their tribute to the veteran actress on Twitter. The actress had no history of heart-ailment.

Some more details of her untimely death are emerging online. According to the Republic, the icon passed away in her hotel room in Dubai's Emirates Towers at 11 pm (Dubai time) on Saturday. She reportedly fainted in her bathroom and was immediately rushed to Rashid Hospital but died on the way.

The mortal remains of the star are expected to arrive in India from Dubai after 5 pm. In a statement, the Mumbai International Airport (MIAL) said: "Remains of Ms Sridevi are expected on Chartered flight at GA terminal near gate 8. But it will be passed through Acc cargo for procedures."  Consulate officials confirmed that her body is currently at the police headquarters morgue in Al Qusais.

Having won the Filmfare Best Actress Awards thrice, Sridevi was also the recipient of Padma Shri, India’s third highest civilian award. Some of her most memorable Bollywood contributions include Mr. India, Nagina, Lamhe, Chaalbaaz, Chandani, English Vinglish and a lot more. She was married to film producer Boney Kapoor . Her elder daughter, Janhvi will be making her Bollywood debut this year with Karan Johar 's Dhadak.
