    Rumi Jaffrey turns down Shaukeen remake

    Known filmmaker of God Tussi Great Ho Rumi Jaffrey, has refused to direct the remake of 1982 hit film Shaukeen, originally directed by Basu Chatterjee. The maker is willing to take the project in hand but says that the date issues are a major concern, "The film has got delayed to next year... To January. It feels sad that I couldn`t do it. I have other commitments to fulfill and there was no way I could manage things."

    The writer-director is unhappy, as he will not be associated with the venture but hopes that the film does well. Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar and Nargis Fakri have been signed to play the lead. Ashok Kumar, Utpal Dutt and A. K. Hangal’s character of old lecherous men will now be revived by Annu Kapoor, Paresh Rawal and Anupam Kher in this venture. Shaukeen was a comedy feature flick where three old men move to Goa with a girl to impress her and then the delightful comedy takes place. Well, the audience is waiting for the movie and hopes that it will be as entertaining as original Shaukeen.
