Salman-Govinda in an art film? Nah, go find some other table!

Salman-Govinda in an art film? Nah, go find some other table!

The exact kind of expression actor Govinda would give if asked to work in an art film would be, “You’ve got the wrong person”. A similar sort of story happened when the actor turned down a project with Salman Khan, since it did not appear commercial to him. Govinda was approached for a Marathi film alongside Salman but the actor after reading the script turned the role down.

Out of all the actors in the country, the two actors we’d expect to see in an art film would be Salman and Govinda themselves, and that’s what Govinda explained. “I didn’t reject the film because it was Marathi or it was in a vernacular language. My reason was very different. My primary prerogative was that I did not want to do an art film. I don’t like the idea of it,” he said. The comic actor also revealed that Salman came back to him with changes in the script but that didn’t interest him either. “Salman had said he will make a few changes in the script and returned to me again with it, but it still failed to interest me. I thought it was a purely art film and I don’t want to do an art film at least with Salman. Salman had earlier done a small guest appearance for me but after Partner, I have never tried to involve him career wise, or trouble him or anyone else for that matter. I feel that if someone is good at heart, it shouldn’t seem like we are taking advantage of them. We are friends from the time we haven’t even done a film together and we never thought our friendship would work career wise too,” Govinda described.

While the audiences loved both these actors in the 2007 hit Partner, they would hope to see them work together in another masala flare. For the moment Govinda is ready with two interesting looking films back to back. His ‘Kill Dil’ releases on November 14th while Happy Ending will hit the screens on November 21st.
