Salman Khan, Anushka Sharma Starrer Sultan To Make Rs 150-160 Cr In The Five Day Weekend, Says Trade Expert

We all have been waiting for a long time for this year’s big release, Sultan, which is finally happening tomorrow on Eid. Given its story line, everyone is hoping that the Salman Khan, Anushka Sharma starrer film will make a massive amount of collection during the first five day weekend. Talking about the collection of this Indian sports-drama film, Amul Mohan, trade expert and Editor of Super Cinema, has anticipated that the film will ‘easily do in the range of Rs 150-160 crore over the five day weekend’.

As the film is made with the budget of Rs. 115 crore (excluding the cost of the cast), Amul Mohan told Bollywoodlife.com about his expectation. He said, “We are expecting very big numbers throughout the first weekend. I guess it is releasing in a little over 4800 screens, which is the norm for such a huge film... There is no other release this weekend and it has a five day weekend, so it going to be tremendous. I think it will open at about Rs 40-42 crore, which is a huge huge number”.

Apparently, Salman Khan gives his best efforts in delivering his performance as well as in promoting the film, so it seems that the film might just grow in collection. Talking about the other days of the weekend, Amul added, “Sultan can go anywhere after the first day. If it opens at Rs 40-42 crore on Wednesday, there might be a drop on Thursday coz it’s not a Holiday. Friday will again see a boom, Saturday might be on the lower side, but then again Sunday will be tremendous. So you are looking at three big days with huge numbers, plus you have the additional two days which will be great too. So I guess it will easily do in the range of Rs 150-160 crore over the five day weekend”.

The trade expert has also revealed that such huge projects are actually needed for the survival of the industry. He mentioned that films like Kapoor and Sons, Airlift, Baaghi were super hit, but to run the industry we need to have a big blockbuster film. Well, a lot is expected from the Ali Abbas Zafar directorial. Hope the film meets everyone’s expectations.
