    Sanjay Dutt, who is convicted for possessing firearms illegally in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, wantsPolicegiri to earn 100 crore. Film’s director K. S. Ravikumar, who is making his debut in Bollywood with Policegiri, commented this on Sanjay’s behalf. The director further commented,"He was happy with the way the film shaped up. He said he will be happy to know that the film did well. He had told all of us that he would be happy if the film does Rs 100 crore (business)."

    Like the other film fraternity,Ravikumartoo is sad with the actor’s arrest. He admired the 53-year-old saying, "He is a great actor and a very good performer. He was jolly on the sets, he was at times moody. But, he was very much into the character. He used to give the shot in one take. He is a director's artist." Dutt will not to be able to see the success of his film as he has to complete his three years of term in the Pune’s Yerwada jail so that his five years imprisonment punishment gets over.

    The director told that the film was not done in a hurry. Nothing has been shortened or cut to make the film in a hurry. Almost 10 to 15 percent of the film was left after the judgement came that said Dutt has to surrender by May 16. He further praised Sanjay saying that he gave maximum time for the film. Policegiri is an action film where Sanjay Dutt is playing the role of a police officer while Prachi Desai opposite Sanjay is playing his love interest. Ravikumar revealed that the film will have never seen before actions, "Cop films are doing well in south as well. I am a commercial director, we have made changes according to Hindi film audience. We have confidence that the film will do well." The film is scheduled to release by July 5.
