Sara Ali Khan-Sushant Singh Rajput Starrer Kedarnath’s Release Date Postponed?

Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter Sara Ali Khan is making her Bollywood debut with Kedarnath. The Abhishek Kapoor directorial stars actor Sushant Singh Rajput opposite her. And now we have heard that the movie which was scheduled to release in June 2018 has been postponed to early 2019.

Producer Prerna Arora of KriArj Entertainment has revealed that if everything goes as per plan, the film will release in on January 26, 2019. According to reports, the film has been delayed as the makers want to shoot an important sequence in the movie which requires the set of Kedarnath to be built in Mumbai. The film’s plot is related to the 2013 Uttarakhand floods. The flood sequence will be shot in Mumbai.

A source told a leading tabloid, "The makers felt that the sequence deserves a grander canvas. So, they have decided to recreate the town of Kedarnath in Mumbai. The set will be erected by February next year. Abhishek intends to wrap up the sequence by June. This has, in turn, pushed the release." The makers also planning to hire VFX team from Los Angeles so that this natural disaster looks quite real on the silver screen. The source added, "Gallons of water will be used to create the flood effect. The sequence will be high on VFX.”

Prerna said, “It's going to be a challenging shoot. I completely believe in Gattu's [Kapoor] vision." Kedarnath will mark Sushant’s second collaboration with Abhishek after Kai Po Che. The flick is jointly presented by Balaji Motion Pictures, Guy in the Sky Pictures, KriArj Entertainment and T-Series.
