A source close to the production team said, “Greg has recently started working on developing Shah Rukh’s look. He spent a considerable amount of time at the studio last week. He also had a long meeting with SRK, Maneesh and Aditya Chopra (producer) to get a fair understanding of the script. He also shared his creative inputs with them.” The source added, “He will give SRK a complete makeover, and measures are being taken to keep the look under wraps.” Greg is a nine times Academy Awards nominee and has won Oscar three times for Brad Pitt-starrer The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008), Mrs. Doubtfire (1993) and Dracula (1992), apart from several other esteemed awards.

He also received a Technical Achievement Award from the Academy for his development of a special modified silicone makeup substance. Director Maneesh Sharma said about SRK’s look in the film, ''We are attempting a never-seen before look for Shahrukh which will be both challenging for us and exciting for the viewer. Understandably, this will be kept under wraps till the first look of the film is revealed.'' Earlier an excited SRK tweeted about the film, "Most of the characters I do are the ones I create. For the first time I am going to play what has created me. I will be in my next a 'FAN'." The female lead for the film is yet to be finalised though Parineeti Chopra’s name has been doing the rounds for the same. Produced by Aditya Chopra, FAN will go on the floors by mid-2014 and will be released on August 14, 2015.
