Shahid Kapoor Never Wanted To Be A Part Of Shaandaar?

Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Shaandaar has not performed as well as expected and the blame game has already begun post one week of the film’s release. The rumour mills are churning that Shahid never wanted to be a part of the Vikas Bahl directorial and opted for the film only for producer friend Madhu Mantena. Now that the film has received mixed reviews and didn’t outperform at the box office despite heavy promotions, Shahid is reportedly feeling let down for father Pankaj Kapur.

A source has been quoted as saying, “He was never convinced about the script. He did the film for producer Madhu Mantena. The two are close friends. And he agreed to do the film in spite of the flimsy storyline for Madhu’s sake. But now Shahid is fuming. Because Shaandaar has not only failed to deliver the much-needed box office success to his career, it has also brought down the reputation of his father Pankaj Kapoor”.

The source added, “Pankaj saab does very selective work. All his recent films have claimed to be quirky comedies. But have ended up being moronic mirthless worthless comedies. More than for himself, Shahid is upset for his dad”.
