Shankar working on two climaxes for Akshay, Rajinikanth’s 2.o

With majority portion of superstar Rajinikanth’s 2.o already shot, the makers are busy wrapping up the most important climax sequence and a couple of songs. The team has taken a brief break as both Akshay Kumar, who is being introduced as the antagonist to Tamil filmdom, and Rajinikanth are currently busy with their respective commitments. Meanwhile, Shankar is making arrangements to film the climax scene which will be shot on a lavish budget and on a never seen before scale. Apparently, Shankar will be shooting two climax sequences and a decision to finally lock one will be made closer to release date.

According to trusted sources, while Rajinikanth wants a high-end VFX-laden climax, Akshay Kumar is adamant that they shoot the scenes to make everything look realistic. Shankar has decided that he will go ahead and shoot two climaxes. “Shankar sir has taken the points of view of Rajini sir and Akshay sir. Therefore, he has decided to shoot two climax scenes and the best one will be finalised based on the final inputs from the lead actors,” a source told HT.

A sequel to Enthiran, the film also stars Amy Jackson and Adil Hussain. While Akshay Kumar will be seen playing an ornithologist, Rajinikanth will be seen as a scientist and a robot. The project is bankrolled by Lyca Productions. The film’s satellite rights across all languages were recently bagged by Zee Network for a whopping Rs 100 crore, making it the highest amount paid for an Indian film. Tipped to be the most expensive Indian film being made on a budget of Rs 450 crore, 2.o is slated for release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi next year in a record number of screens worldwide.
