Shekhar Kapur Confirms Bruce Lee Biopic

Veteran director Shekhar Kapur has been signed in to direct the biopic on iconic Chinese-American star, Bruce Lee. The movie which is titled ‘Little Dragon’ will be his first Chinese project. Apart from directing, Shekhar will also co-write the flick.

"We are working on the script," said the 71-year-old filmmaker. He also said that the first script draft of the film has been written by Bruce's daughter, Shannon Lee. The movie has been planned as an official U S - China co-production, with several Chinese companies expected to co-finance and co-produce the film.

‘Little Dragon’ will narrate Lee’s early life before he left Hong Kong for Hollywood and went on to become an icon and Kung-Fu movie master in the 1970s. The movie will mark Shekhar’s return to filmmaking after 8 long years. His last project was ‘Passage’, American-Swiss drama short film which released in 2009. He is also awaiting the release of his ambitious project ‘Paani’ on which he worked for 15 years. ‘Paani will now have new artists, including Sushant Singh Rajput , as those who worked in the movie were much older that what was required for the role.
