Shooting For Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt’s Gully Boy Starts Today

Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt will be working together for the first time in Zoya Akhtar ’s ‘ Gully Boy ’. The film will go on floors from today and will also star Kalki Koechlin. Ranveer is playing the role of a street rapper. The flick has been inspired by Vivian Fernandes aka Divine and Naved Shaikh aka Naezy who are rappers as well.

Zoya took to Instagram to share the news along with a pic of the clapperboard and caption, “Day 1 #herewego #gullyboy #slateit #makingmovies #anotherdayinparadise”. Ranveer spoke to a leading daily about the upcoming venture and said. “In January itself, I start Gully Boy for which I collaborate with Zoya, who is very dear and special in my life as a collaborator, person as well as a director”.

The actor also praised his co-star Alia and said that she is an excellent actor. “She is certainly among the best actors in today’s day-and-age. I believe she is on her way towards greatness”, Ranveer added. The duo has previously worked together in ads for Make My Trip which are quite entertaining and show the on screen potential of the two.
