Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty have joined hands for the remake of one of the most memorable movies of 1980s - Ram Lakhan. This multi-starrer movie was a perfect amalgamation of action, comedy, drama and romance. The movie, which was directed by Subhash Ghai, had Anil Kapoor(Inspector Lakhan Pratap Singh), Jackie Shroff(Inspector Ram Pratap Singh), Madhuri Dixit(Radha Shastri), Dimple Kapadia(Geeta Kashyap) and Raakhee(Mrs. Sharda Pratap Singh) in the lead roles.

Tinsel town is abuzz with the rumours of Shraddha Kapoor being chosen for the role of Radha (which was played by Madhuri). Alia Bhatt’s name is also being considered for the movie as the highway actress is one of the favourites of Karan Johar. Rohit Shetty said during an interview, “The remake will have young actors only”. Siddharth Malhotra and Ranveer Singh have been chosen for the roles of Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor, respectively.

A report published in DNA stated, “"People keep forgetting that along with being a two-hero film, it's also a two-heroine project. Producer Karan Johar is keen on Shraddha Kapoor for Madhuri's role. He's very impressed with her performance in ABCD 2. Shraddha's riding high on her back-to-back successes and Alia Bhatt is one of Karan's favourites. So both of them are the toughest contenders for the role. But nothing has been finalised".
