    Shruti Haasan wins over Asin for Anees Bazmee’s Welcome Back

    It seems like Shruti Haasan’s last two releasesD-Day and Ramaiya Vastavaiya have brought back her lost happy days. Her acting skills in crime-thriller D-Day by filmmakerNikhil Advaniand Prabhu Dheva’s romance comedy Ramaiya Vastavaiya, have impressed the makers of Welcome so much so that they are ready to replace their original actress.

    DirectorAnees Bazmee is heading for a sequel of 2007 comedy venture Welcome titled Welcome Back and will cast John Abraham oppositeShruti in the lead. A source revealed, “Though Akshay Kumar, who played the lead in the first film, had opted out, the makers were initially planning to retain Asin. But after seeing Shruti's performance in her recent releases, they felt that she will be a better fit for the part. Shruti has also signed on the dotted line.”

    The movie will haveAmitabh Bachchan, Nana Patekar and Anil Kapooralong with the lead pair. Shruti is currently having one project in her kitty i.e. A.R. Murugadoss's Hindi remake of Tamil 2002 released filmRamana. The remake is titled Gabbar and will feature Asin for a special appearance in the movie.
