Back in 1969, the song-less suspense movie, Ittefaq, which was directed by Yash Chopra and produced by his brother B. R. Chopra, hit silver screen and became a cult blockbuster. Now years later, the classic tale is set to be remade by the flick’s producer’s grandson Abhay Chopra. Regarding the cast, it has now been confirmed that actor Sidharth Malhotra will star in the remake version.

Talking about his delight, the Ek Villain actor shared with PTI, “I am really excited to work on this project. The script is brilliant and it will be a new screen character for me”. B-town is also abuzz with the rumours that Sidharth will pair up with his alleged lady love Alia Bhatt in the flick.

The movie is being produced by Abhay’s brother Kapil along with Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar. The original flick starred Rajesh Khanna and Nanda in the significant roles. The film was the remake of a British movie, Signpost to Murder (1965).
