Sidharth Malhotra Talks About Being Overshadowed By Katrina Kaif In 'Kala Chashma’

Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra are all set to sizzle on big screens with their upcoming flick ‘Baar Baar Dekho’. The two created frenzy with their fiery grooves in the song ‘Kala Chashma’ from the romantic drama. There is no denying that the Fitoor actress stole the show with her eye-melting stomach and appealing expressions from her co-star in the foot tapping number. But, it seems that the extra attention on Katrina doesn’t affect Sidharth.

Recently, the Kapoor and Sons actor talked about Katrina outshining him in the song. “I was aware what she (Katrina) brings to the song”, the 31-year-old actor stated, adding, “I have loved all her songs in the past. I was more consumed by do I improve myself from my previous songs. Do I get the groove right… I was more competing with my previous songs as opposed to competing with the actress”.

“I have not reached that level of insecurity that I will compete with my heroine”, Sidharth continued, adding, “Everybody has their own space and I have my own role and character to play. There is a male and female energy. I can't compete with female energy because I am not here to give that, the latkas and jhatkaas”.

Sidharth has earlier been seen matching the footsteps with Alia Bhatt in the songs ‘Kar Gayi Chull’ and ‘Let's Nacho’ from the movie ‘Kapoor and Sons’, and ‘The Disco Song’ and ‘Radha’ from the film ‘Student of The Year’. He was also seen grooving to the beats of the song ‘Punjabi Wedding Song’ with Parineeti Chopra in ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’.

On a related note, Karan Johar’s ‘Baar Baar Dekho’ is scheduled for release on September 9. Desimartini wishes strokes of luck to the entire team of the movie.
