Sippy on track to work out Shimla Mirchi

Sippy on track to work out Shimla Mirchi

-- Ramesh Sippy may have listed his name as one of the best directors of our country with his much popular ‘Sholay’ but the filmmaker had disappeared from the industry since long. The director’s last film Deewana starring Shah Rukh Khan and Raveena Tandon hit the screens in 1995 and after almost two decades, Sippy is planning to come back with a rom-com titled Shimla Mirchi starring Hema Malini, Rajkummar Rao and Rakul Preet Singh.

Sippy says, "It feels good to be back. It's the same old madness and the hustle bustle of getting things done. Thank God, the weather is holding up well."

The shoot began on Shimla's famous Mall Road with Rajkummar. "I enjoyed the script but the real honour is being directed by a legend like Ramesh sir. He could throw his weight around but instead he is so down-to-earth and humble. We had workshops with him before we left for Shimla, so there is complete clarity and shooting is smooth. Even the locals are only approaching us for photographs and autographs between shots," says an exciting Rajkummar.

"We met during the workshops and she's sweet, intelligent and very beautiful," he added, while confessing that he has been eagerly waiting for Hema Malini to join the crew. "She's my lucky mascot," asserts Sippy. He had earlier worked with her in Andaz, Seeta Aur Geeta and Sholay.
