Smita Patil’s Son Prateik Babbar Gets Engaged To Girlfriend Sanya Sagar, Announces It On Instagram!

Actor Prateik Babbar got engaged to girlfriend Sanya Sagar on Monday in Lucknow. Sanya and Prateik have known each other for eight years and decided to make it official on the auspicious day of Basant Panchmi. Prateik is the son of Smita Patil and Raj Babbar.

According to a Mumbai Mirror report, Sanya and Prateik got engaged in a private ceremony at Sanya’s farmhouse in Lucknow. The entire menu was decided by Sanya - a seven-course Lucknowi meal that included Prateik’s favourite rajma, it added.

The actor also shared a picture from the ceremony, hinting at the engagement. “#monday.. “holy snappp!.. that just happened!”,” he posted on Instagram.

The tabloid quoted Prateik as saying, “Sanya and I, along with our families, decided that something as pure as love should be solemnised on an auspicious day and what better day than Basant Panchami. She’s the best partner I could have asked for. It didn’t take me long to figure out that she was the one for me. I know it sounds clichéd, but I can’t stop counting my blessings and thanking God for all the good that is happening in my life.”

Sanya has completed her postgraduate course in filmmaking from Goldsmiths University.

On the work front, Prateik will soon be seen as an antagonist in Baaghi 2 . The film also features Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani .

Talking about his late mother, Prateik said, “I constantly feel her presence, she is my guardian angel and guiding force.”
