5 Times Social Media Mistook Identities Of These Bollywood Celebrities!
Bollywood celebrities are those few people who the entire nation, and many in the world also know very well. Their work makes them not just popular but many people also rever them! But then, there are also people who do not recognise the celebs, and worse still mistake them for someone else.
Mistaken identities have become rather common nowadays. The Western media has more often than not confused one Indian celeb with the other. Nowadays, this syndrome has spread even on social media! Here are 5 times social media confused one celebrity with the other:
1. Shashi Kapoor and Shashi Tharoor
Veteran actor Shashi Kapoor breathed his last on 4th December 2017. The sad news spread quickly and social media began to pour in condolences for the actor's family. But one media organization mistakenly pronounced politician Shashi Tharoor dead instead of the actor! Social media was quick to point the mistake, but Tharoor had already begun to get numerous messages!
I feel a part of me is gone. A great actor, smart, cosmopolitan, impossibly handsome & w/a name that was often confused w/mine. (My office got two calls from journalists today about my reportedly serious ill-health!) I will miss #ShashiKapoor. Condolences2his family&all his fans pic.twitter.com/fSz3jafPZJ

2. Shashi Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor
It is yet another example of how Western media confused two Indian actors. The channel BBC wrongly showed clips of Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor in the background to spread the news of Shashi Kapoor's death!
Hang on @bbcnews Shashi Kapoor has died not Amitabh Bachan or Rishi Kapoor, who you've weirdly used to illustrate the story. pic.twitter.com/48jo6DGjU6

3. Sonu Nigam and Sonu Sood
Sonu Nigam had posted about his displeasure of being woken up by Azaan in the morning. While he was under a lot of wrath, actor Sonu Sood also had to pay the price for being his namesake. In fact, he also tweeted that he has no idea what is going on!
I am still wondering WHO said WHAT n to WHOM ?? n WHO'S asking me to find out WHAT happened WHERE ???

4. Kainaat Arora for a real cop
Great Grand Masti fame Kainat Arora had instagramed a photo of her with the costume of a cop for her upcoming role. She was mistaken for a real cop in Punjab!
5. Snapdeal and Snapchat
Well, this isn't the case of a celeb but related to a Bollywood celeb. Post Aamir Khan 's comment about leaving India, people showed their displeasure by uninstalling and boycotting the brand that he endorsed- Snapdeal. Many, in this race, also uninstalled Snapchat! But they had their time when post Snapchat CEO's India is not rich comment, people uninstalled Snapdeal.
