Sonakshi, Malaika’s Trip To Nepal Seems To Have Stirred Some Trouble

Bollywood actresses Sonakshi Sinha and Malaika Arora arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal where they were greeted by top officers of the Nepal Army in uniform. This caused some trouble for the officers as The Kantipur daily published an article stating that the prestige of the Nepal Army has been negatively affected. The article led to the filing of several complaints at Hello Sarkar, stating this “misuse” of the Army.

Nepali film industry superstar Rajesh Hamal took to his Facebook page and posted, “Nepal Army: The Pride of the Nation....But when I read today's news my pride as a citizen has been shattered....as a humble artist of this nation I feel humiliated...If they had to receive the artists from abroad they should have done in plain clothes”. According to Defense Secretary Mahesh Dahal, a probe will be launched in the incident.

The actresses went to Nepal for a charity function to raise funds for last year’s earthquake victims. It was organized by Nepal Army Wives Association which is headed by the wife of Army Chief Gen. Rajendra Chhettri. Sonakshi performed in a concert named ‘Amarpanchhi’ in Tundikhel.
