Sonakshi Sinha Likely To Be Casted For Chameli Ki Shaadi’s Remake

Sonakshi Sinha who is popular for being assertive, outspoken and strong headed is most likely to be seen playing a similar role on the big screen. Rumour has it that the Dabangg girl is in talks to play Amrita Singh's role in Anil Kapoor starrer Chameli Ki Shaadi’s remake. The remake of 1986 film which was a satire on caste system will be helmed by duo Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru.

Sapru has confirmed the development, saying, “Talks are on with Sonakshi with whom we have worked earlier in 'Dabangg' (2010), her debut film. We hope to make an official announcement in another 4-5 days”. A source told Mid-Day, “Chameli's personality has a desi edge and only Sonakshi can play the character to perfection. We are keen to have her on board”.

 “The story of the film is relevant even in today's time. Our society still does not approve of inter-caste alliances; many relationships are throttled due to caste and class distinction. The remake will focus on love in the face of such challenges”, added the source. Now an official announcement is awaited.
