Sonu Nigam has not done all the things I asked for: WB cleric responds

The fight between Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam and West Bengal cleric Syed Sha Atef Ali Al Quaderi is getting intense with both sides refusing to back off.

First it was Nigam who asked Quaderi to fulfil his promise of paying Rs 10 lakh to the person who would shave off his head, and it’s the cleric’s turn to respond to it. And he has done exactly that.

Quaderi is now saying that Sonu Nigam has fulfilled only one out of the three conditions. ANI quoted him saying, “Sonu Nigam has not done all the things I asked for, two out of the three things remain unfulfilled.”

He also said, “Will give reward of 10 lakh, only when he does rest two-garland of old torn shoes and tour around the country.”

This all started on Monday when Sonu put out a tweet saying, “God bless everyone. I’m not a Muslim and I have to be woken up by the Azaan in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India.”

To which a Kolkata-based cleric announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh to anybody who can tonsure Sonu Nigam and garland him with old shoes.

Sonu Nigam accepted the challenge and tweeted, “Today at 2pm, Aalim will come to my place and shave my head. Keep your 10 lakhs ready Maulvi.”
