    Sony music to release music of Karan Johar's Student of the Year

    Mumbai -- Sony Music Entertainment has acquired the music rights of Karan Johar's upcoming film Student of the Year. The romantic comedy, which marks the debut of Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra, is a co-production of Johar's Dharma Productions and Shah Rukh Khans Red Chilies Entertainment. Vishal and Shekhar have composed the films music. "My association with Sony music dates back 14 years, the best music of Dharma Productions has been beautifully nurtured by the team at Sony music. I am proud to associate yet again with them on Student of the Year," Johar said in a statement. Sanujeet Bhujabal, marketing director, Sony music India, said: "It's been over a decade since our maiden venture Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and we are delighted to be associated with them once again, with the hugely anticipated movie Student of the Year. The movie is scheduled to release October 19.
