Director Srijit Mukherji, who made his Bollywood directorial debut with Begum Jaan starring Vidya Balan, is currently prepping for his next directorial venture Yeti Obhijaan which is said to be an Indo-Bangladesh joint collaboration. The film which is shot in India and Switzerland will feature Bengali superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee in the lead role. The flick is an adaptation of Pahar Churaye Aatonko from the Bengali adventure series – Kakababu written by author Sunil Gangopadhyay.

Talking about the movie, the director said, “Yeti Obhijan’ is inspired by the adventure of Kakababu and Santu, where they unravel the mystery surrounding the beast Yeti at Gorokhshep plateau.” Bengali film production house Shree Venkatesh Films Entertainment and Bangladeshi producer Jazz Multimedia will collaborate with each other to produce the Bengali film. The film will start rolling from next month.

The director initially thought of making the film in 3D but then resorted to 2D as there are not enough 3D screens in West Bengal. Apart from Prosenjit, the movie will also star Jisshu Sengupta. The movie is expected to hit the theatres in December 2017.
