Subhash Kapoor replaces Rajkumar Hirani for Munnabhai Chale Delhi

Rajkumar Hirani, who is best known for directingMunna Bhai MBBSand its sequelLage Raho Munnabhai, will not be directing the third instalment of theMunna Bhai.Munnabhai Chale Delhi’sproducer Vidhu Vinod Chopra has confirmed the news to a leading daily thatSubhash Kapoor will take over the project asHirani is quite busy with Aamir Khan’s Peekay.

Vidhu says about the director, "I have seen Subhash's work and after discussing with Hirani, Abhijat Joshi (screenwriter,Lage Raho Munnabhai) I realised that Subhash has the sensibility and the approach required to take theMunnabhaifranchise ahead." Subhash directedJolly LLBwill hit the screenson March 15. He further added that earlier he was not happy with the second half of the script but now Subhash Kapoor will work on the script composed by Hirani.

The CEO of Vidhu Vinod Chopra Films, Sameer Rao, made a statement, "Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi will continue as Munna and Circuit respectively. Kapoor will be done with his current assignment ofJolly LLBby March, thereafter he will get intoMunnabhai Chale Delhi." The film may start its production work later this year.
