Surprise! Padmaavat Enters 100 Crore Club

Sanjay Leela Bhansali ’s magnum opus Padmaavat, which was wrapped under controversies has released on January 24th. Surprisingly, the film has garnered a lot of attention and it has led to storm the box office collection. The film has entered the hundred crore club in just four days since its release.

As per reports from Box Office India, after collecting Rs 5 crores (paid previews) on Wednesday the film has earned around Rs 30 crores again on January 28, Rs 19 crores on January 25, Rs 32 on January 26 and Rs 27 crores on January 27, after which its total collections stands at Rs 110 crores.

Moreover, it has been clear now that the period drama would have easily crossed Rs 145 crores. But due to the protests and vandalism from Karni Sena, it has affected the market position of the film. Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh didn’t have a single screening of the film, which is a major drawback for the films commercial business.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film has tremendously done well at the international box office especially in USA and Canada. It has marked the highest collections for a Bollywood film in a single day in North America. It is yet to be seen if the market position remains the same on the non-holidays for the film. ‘Padmaavat’ has been produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and Sanjay Leela Bhansali Productions.
