Tabu to play tough cop in Drishyam

After getting rave reviews for her performance in Haider, veteran actress Tabu will be seen playing a powerful police officer in Drishyam. Playing a police officer is said to be the toughest role she has ever portrayed. The name of her role will be IG Meera Deshmukh, who can do anything to expose the truth.

Tabu has played some of the strong female characters earlier also in movies like Chandni Bar and Cheeni Kum. The movie also features Ajay Devgn in the lead, who plays a middle-class family man named Vijay Salgaonkar. According to sources, the lead role was earlier offered to Saif Ali Khan.

The upcoming thriller drama is directed by Nishikant Kamat, who has directed several Hindi and Marathi flicks. The movie also features Shriya Saran, who is portraying Ajay Devgn’s wife. Slated for release on July 31, the flick is produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures in association with Panorama Studios.
