The Indian audience is always happy to welcome new music with open arms: Lost Stories

The popular Indian DJ duo Prayag Mehta and Rishab Joshi, popularly known as Lost Stories, have played a pivotal role when it comes to putting India on the map with respect to EDM music. Their remixes of Alan Walker’s ‘Faded’ and One Republic’s ‘Wherever I go’, made them a sensation both nationally and globally. They performed for the third time at the world’s biggest EDM music festival Tomorrowland this year.

“Tomorrowland is hailed as one of the biggest dance music festivals in the world and it is every DJs dream to perform there. Us being two Gujarati boys from Mumbai, this dream has was far-fetched, but it did come true in the year 2015,” says Prayag. Ask them how the ambience at the festival is, and Rishab says, “Like no other. Tomorrowland is the ultimate music festival creating surreal experiences and vibrant set-ups for concert goers. Imagine tens and thousands of fans raving in unison around gigantic stage set ups, accompanied by fireworks and trippy visuals fuelled by the music from world’s top DJs. It’s a whole new world altogether.”

The DJ duo were ranked No.52 on DJ Mag Top 100 polls in 2016, and they feel honoured to have received love and support from fans with different nationalities. Prayag and Rishab started producing music in 2008, and since the duo’s inception, they have managed to achieve several feats. “From playing alongside DJ Tiesto, to reaching number 1 spots with a couple of our singles and playing at top music festivals including Tomorrowland, it’s been a long ride,” says Prayag.

Ask them about the changes that they have noticed among EDM lovers’ taste in music over the years and Rishab says, “Thanks to the internet, we all have evolved. It has helped spread awareness of different genres which earlier were unknown to a lot of music listeners. A lot of new artistes have toured India in the recent past further educating the audience. The Indian audience has an open mind and is always happy to welcome new music with open arms.”

Prayag and Rishab are set to release their new single ‘Spread the fire’ in August. “It will feature pop influenced vocals by Marc Wulf,” says Rishab. They will be following this up with another single called ‘Paradise’, which they will release in September.
