The reason why Vijay Sethupathi walked out of Dhanush's Vada Chennai

When Vetrimaaran and Dhanush officially announced that Vijay Sethupathi will be doing an important role in the long-in-the-making gangster drama Vada Chennai, the expectations were sky high.

Now, Vijay Sethupathi has revealed that he has walked out of the project due to date issues. “Vijay Sethupathi kept allocating dates to the team, but Vetrimaaran and Dhanush never used it. They postponed shooting schedules at irregular intervals and it clashed with Vijay Sethupathi’s already-committed assignments. Hence, he decided to walk out of the film,” informs a source privy to the development to HT.

Vijay Sethupathi is currently waiting for the release of KV Anand-directed Kavan, where he shares screen space with Madonna Sebastian for the second time after their last outing in Nalan Kumarasamy’s romance drama Kadhalum Kadanthu Pogum.

Vetrimaaran roped in Vijay Sethupathi to play the role of a North Chennai gangster in Vada Chennai, whose shooting is expected to resume towards the end of April again. Amala Paul and Andrea Jeremiah will be seen essaying pivotal roles in the film, which will have music composed by Santhosh Narayanan.
